Our veterinarians evaluate every animal for signs of heart disease at each routine physical examination. If signs of heart disease are present, we may suggest further diagnostic tests such as radiographs, an electrocardiogram (ECG), or a cardiac ultrasound. These diagnostic tests can help determine the degree of heart disease if present and what treatment and/or medication may be most beneficial. They can also consult with board certified cardiologists if necessary for further evaluation of electrocardiogram results.
