Radiology / Ultrasound
Veterinarians rely on diagnostic tools to aid in the evaluation of hidden problems. We have an in-house radiology unit and film processor. Film is developed and interpreted by our Veterinarians immediately. We also have the capability to digitize these films to consult with board certified radiologists on more unusual cases. We are often able to radiograph our patients without the use of anesthesia; however, there are times when sedation is required.
Ultrasound is a modern, non-invasive technology that allows our veterinarians to obtain a detailed image of internal organs that is not possible with traditional radiographs. It also allows us a relatively non-invasive means of obtaining fine needle aspirates and biopsies using the ultrasound as a guide. These tests are key in diagnosing masses and conditions such as hepatitis and lymphoma.
